Grip lighthouse

Grip lighthouse was lit in 1880. A 37 m tall iron cast tower was set on top of a 6,9 m tall concrete fundament. The light shined through a 3. order Fresnel lense. The lighthouse keepers lived inside the tower. In 1932 the lighthouse station was electrified. The lighthouse was automated and demanned in 1977. Fourty years later a solar panel and a batterybank replaced diesel aggregats.
