Lepsøyrev lighthouse

In 1856 the flighthouse vessel "Enigheden" was lit at Lepsøyrev. It was the first lighthouse vessel in Norway. Later it had to be replaced with two other vessel. Because of the rough conditions the llighthouse authorities decided to build a proper lighthouse station. Lepsøyrevet lighthouse was lit in 1879. The lighthouse was home for a keeper and his familiy. In 1930 electricity was installed and in 1956 de-manned. Since 2014 the lightouse is no longer in use for navigation. Instead the volunteer group Lepsøyrevets fyrvenner are keeping the lighthouse open for visits, art exhibitions and concerts.
