Ytterøyane lighthouse

Ytterøyane lighthouse. The first light was lit on october 17th 1881. The iron cast tower was delivered by the naval yard in Horten. The top was produced by Aker verk from Christiania, today Oslo. The 1. order Fresnel lense was delivered from Lepaute, Paris, France. During WW2 the lighthouse station was attacked by allied airforce. Bulletholes can be seen in the lighthouse tower. In 1963 the keepers families moved out. The lighthouse station was automatic in 1989 and demanned in 2004. The lighthouse has been protected by the cultural heritage law since 1999
