Gjertrud and her four Pilots

On the outermost island of Sunnmøre, piloting was an important profession. In these communities women played an active role. The women were often in charge of both the farm as well as the household. Piloting was hard and many pilots got an early and wet grave. Listen to Gjertrud Kvalsvik from Kvalsvik in Herøy's recollection.
