The deadman's cove

According to one tradition, the sinister name dates from the fact that drowned sailors drifted ashore in this place after shipwreck. Others claim that the sound of the grey seals screaming from the skerries, resembling voices of humans in agony, has inspired the name. The brothers Eilert and Hans Broks lived here in the 19th century. They were fishermen, and had a little patch of land for their livestock.
