In Dalsfjord there has since 1825 been strong links with the Lighthouse Authorities. Over several generations, people from this area have sailed the Norwegian coast establishing and erecting lighthouses and aids to navigation. From the 1980s onwards, employees of the Norwegian Coastal Administration together with retired lighthouse builders began to collect objects, memorabilia and documentation related to the building of lighthouses. This resulted in the founding of Dalsfjord Museum of Lighthouses. In Dalsfjord you can relive the history of lighthouse building.
